Performance Gains from TLC Line Conditioning
TLC Line Cards have been optimized to deliver maximum performance gains for specifc xDSL applications:
- VDSL2 for IPTV networks
- Long-reach ADSL applications intended to serve 768Kb to 1.5Mb the maximum distance
- HIgher-bandwidth ADSL applications serving 10Mbps up to 33% deeper - and boosting bandwidth at 10Kft from 8Mbps to 14Mbps
- ISDN applications where the DSL signal is carried simultaneously on the same pair (Bandplan 997)
For ADSL2+ and ADSL1 Applications
Shown below are in-service performance gains achieved on an 80,000 line installation completed for a Tier 1 telco in South America. It is standard operation for ADSL2+ chipsets in the DSLAM to automatically transition to ADSL1 protocol when the subscriber modem (CPE) is farther than 11 or 12Kft from the DSLAM. All of Phylogy's ADSL2 TLC cards are compatible with both ADSL2+ and ADSL1 protocols and seamlessly accommodate this automatic protocol transition. MORE >>
- Serve 8Mbps ADSL2 bandwidth 30% deeper into the service area reaching 13Kft without needing to install new remote terminals, backhauls, and DSLAMs
- Extend 3Mbps ADSL1 bandwidth from 15 Kft out to 18Kft
- Upgrade 8Mbps ADSL2 subscribers to 14Mbps to improve ARPU

For Extreme Reach ADSL1 Applications beyong 18Kft
Phylogy makes delivery of ADSL1 services viable out to 5 or 6 miles from the DSLAM depending on plant condition and wire guage. MORE >>
- Support rural service delivery of High Speed Internet (HSI)
- Serve Dry ADSL up to 34Kft from the DSLAM over mixed guage
For VDSL2 IPTV Applications
Insertion of TLCs into the VDSL2 network can extend 20Mbps service from 3.2Kft out to 6Kft - effectively doubling the service area, number of homes passed, and revenue per DSLAM. For 25Mbps IPTV service, reach can be extended 33% farther to serve homes 4Kft from the DSLAM. MORE >>
